A totally unbiased review of Hemavi - written by Matt from Hemavi.
A short compilation of reviews from our Users, how much it costs to use Hemavi, and what you get for it.
Hello peeps, since you're seeing this blog, if you made it this far, then I'm assuming you tried our online viewings, and you're heavily considering whether this service is worth paying for.
What do you pay? πΈ
Our fee on Hemavi is a one-time fee of 40% of the first month's rent (up to a maximum of 4000 SEK in Sweden)
Planning on staying for years? Yep, still just a one-time fee. Nothing charged monthly on the rent or anything like that.
Also β we don't charge anything unless you actually book a place. We don't run shady subscriptions which take advantage of desperate people.. looking at you Tinder π.
What do you get? π€¨
1 - Safety (for you and your money)
We got our own lawyers to draft a fair and standard rental agreement β and ALL of our landlords are forced to use them. So don't worry about shady tactics, we got you covered.
We're also here to answer any questions you might have β like the legal notice period (say you want to leave early), or how to navigate through issues like the security deposit β unless ofc you pulled an Amber Heard on your roommate's bed, then I'm afraid you're on your own there π«₯.
We also don't pay out the first month's rent to the landlord until AFTER you've moved in. Anyways, here's what Filipa has to say about this β
2 - Real Support from Real People (even after you've moved in)
We've been in your shoes β traveling abroad to a new country you know nothing about. Every little thing (non home-related) is just so scary and annoying to deal with... arghh! π©
If only you had a local BFF to take care of you β who knows you, what you like, and is ready to fight for you. But you don't π... So we're the next best thing.π
But hey β don't take our word for it. Here's what the people are saying about us.
We're only a Whatsapp message away. So feel free to ask anything anytime, or just remember that you paid for this service β better use it π€·ββοΈ.
3 β Express Relocation π¨
We do our best to properly vet our landlords, and make sure every piece of information they share is accurate. Here's the proof we do actively block the weird ones π«£ β
But sometimes, it turns out that the creepy people of the internet are just good at hiding how weird they are. Worry not!
If you do face issues when you move in β know that (a) your money will be safe since we only transfer it to the landlord a couple of days after move-in, and (b) we will help you find a roof A-S-A-P β see Alessia's review below π«‘.
4 β Access to Our Community π¬
Every year we get thousands of awesome solo travellers signing up on Hemavi. We also get a few locals in the mix, who just love our service for whatever reason.
Having personally moved abroad alone multiple times, I think finding a nice roof over your head is nice and all, but what really makes the whole experience really memorable is all the cool people you get to meet & do fun things with.
So, Hemavi is also about making it easy for all of you lonely (but obviously awesome π) people to do fun things together, meet locals, and actually integrate with the local culture.
No one likes being stuck in a foreigner bubble.. boo!
